Hi Ethel...just wanted to say how very much I enjoyed this work, and loved the picture! I live in England now, and all the hillsides are dotted with stately oaks, ancient ones at that, so beautiful with character such as you described here.....~S~

Smiling...

A lovely picture, and a cool breeze of poetry too.

And yes, kiddies, it's time for another serenity footnote: there is a legend that after a witch was burned at the stake, her ashes would be gathered and planted beneath a young oak--the idea being that the roots would contain her powers for as long as the tree stood. That is why an uprooted oak (fairly common here in swampy New Orleans) is looked upon as omen--and whether it's taken as a good omen or a bad omen would depend on witch side you're on.

Hugs, ethel. Thanks for playing!

You did this beautifully.

You do a good job with this style, Ethel. Another poem to treasure...
