Empty Space

I talked
about the weather
so much of how
my day had been
I find now I
hadn’t shared enough
and held it
all within
I had let you
grace my lips
but didn’t say you
touched my heart
so now the words
I love you
echo the walls
of apart
what was I
so afraid of
maybe you
felt the same
no one could
say the words
it’s ownership to claim
do second
chances come
does lightening strike
in the same place
next time I’ll say
the words out loud
and they will fill
this empty space

Yes, lightening can strike in the same place more than once.

Six times is my own personal best before I swore off the stuff. *smile* (had to take down the tree after the last one - it was all blasted to pieces.)

Boy, you just THOUGHT I'd let this slip off the page (I think I was called back to passions just to read this!)

Touched my heart with this one you did...been there, and so forth, sometimes only in dreams, but always with my heart.

Second guessing, and regrets always leads to self blame.....don't let it! I think we *all* do the best we can with what the situation presents, and that's all you can do. It's for sure if someone really loves you they *don't* -want- you to beat yourself up about anything much less them. Love doesn't do that. Love nurtures, and cares for the other. It *always* takes 2 to make it work.
