The crow, flinging scraps
of voiceless sound at me,
flies away heavy.
Am I so jealous,
throwing a rock to chase him,
glad a loose quill falls?
He has a thousand feathers;
I must fly with only one.

One of those oddities that happens -- I wrote this last night, and when I opened PIP to post it this morning, there was a poem by Martie /pip/Forum80/HTML/003612.html with the same image, that she also wrote last night.

Yo Martie, time for a duet, methinks!

Believe me, I am more jealous of how you present these images for us.

you may have only one, but you use it wisely, and very, very well.

psssst... poet sir ...I'll let you in on a secret...
( you fly with your pen, your words are your wings)

and YES... its ALWAYS time for you & Martie to duet.

"How could I stand here with you and not be moved by you."

I really like this poem, it's definately my style: freeverse and layered. keep up the depth.

I'll second that you two duet, for I was sure that yours must have been in response...so if you two are going to think along the same lines, you may as well ink some too, for the benefit of the rest of us!

Sometimes one is quite enough... when a heart as big as yours gives it power. *S*

Beautiful work... whether read as a "duet" or not. *S*

I know a woman who
types with her toes, I
guess she is able to
hold a quill also... I am
so lucky to have these
arms and hands to do
the same. now if the
crow could write a poem
for all those feathers
that would be a tale.

Hi Suthern, Hi, Lucky.....

I knew a fellow who typed his with a pencil -- in his mouth....wrote things that were happy and thoughtful at the same time, like you two in your lighter moments....but he sure didn't format 'em the Lucky way!

I wrote this mainly as practice on the Choka form -- not easy for me, but I love it.
