*+*
Teardrops
Sliding down cheeks,
Washing away the pains
That threaten to choke off living.
Endorphins released by frankly weeping,
Bringing heart back into balance.
Let the tears fall freely;
Hold not back your
Teardrops.

You may be right! Next time I have a good cry, I'll strap on an angelic floatation device! lol

Actually it was the combination of reading Ethel's poem and Icebox's, that inspired me to write this piece. She allows tears to flow while he does not--and I myself, cry rivers at times!---and then I'm all better!

Holding back teardrops is usually never a good thing to do....

skyshine ~

Thatsaforsure! That is why I let go--and let 'em flow!--Then I'm over it and ready to write a new page in my life's book!

Unfortunately, some pains require more tears than others...

We seem to think a great deal alike! Hmmm, I wonder why that is...

Martyrpriest ~

If I do not understand someone's poem, I do not enjoy it as much either; however, there are always some aspects of it that I can appreciate!

When we cry, endorphins are released into our bloodstream. They are called "Feel-good hormones"--and they actually do make us  feel much better! By not letting go of some of our pain through tears, we keep it bottled up inside--and that is not a very healthy thing for us to do.

I do not know whether or not you are familiar with the rictameter poetic form but it starts off with 2 syllables (beats),

the second line has 4 beats
the third line has 6
the fourth---8
the fifth---10
the sixth---8
then-- 6
then-- 4
then-- 2 (the same as in first line)

I hope this helps.
You may appreciate the poem more if you do understand it better! If not, thank you for reading and replying!

Warm welcoming hugs,
Earth Angel

a weeping willow sheds it's tears, as i lay with tears on my pillow, ever since she left
my awaken hours leave tears in my beer to fill for years,,

terrific ricameter...

Q ~

I guess you know all about cryin' a river!

--but I'd think the added salt would ruin your beer!

Cry me a river to show me you care
cry me an ocean when I am not there
but when I return in your arms to be
holds back your tears,in your love for me

Lovely open poem, thanks for posting it.
