Borrow-Of-Time
~*Marge Tindal*~

This borrow-of-time that pretends to be mine
leaves me crying for the essence of more
Sure inking swell that knows me so well
watches the clock-in-soft-chime
Praying for keep of slow-hands-in-sweep
turning in ink's gentle rhyme~

Knowing full-well the stories I tell
will be legacy left on some library shelf
Unread is the dread ... of these eyes-in-cry
for words left unsaid ... before the goodbye
In full realize that this poet's eyes
may no longer shed light
on the soft-spoken words of the night~

Dear Lord, I would pray for another day
to pen the gift of my poetic say~

* Another segment in my 'Peel Of Reveal' series *

~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~

Beautiful, Marge.  Your words have touched many people and may then continue to do so.

I can definately see why you would never want to lose what you have...not only does it bless you, but others as well, and isn't that what it's all about. Knowing you bring joy to another even if it's just one!!!!
Lovely as always...

Hi Margie...

Ooh, this gave me goosebumps... I've never really thought of it like that before. But unfortunately however much time we're given, it's never going to be enough, so I guess we have to make do with what we have!

I liked that verse most of all,
and your title is perfect!
This one tugs hard,  at the heart.

.....Keats said that about himself too....which was probably a correct thing on his part -- he likely had fewer regular readers at the time than you do now......

Someday in the far distant future a young one will see your words and smile wishing they had known you in person. For your loving words will never die, they will go on into infinity.

You have a talent for beautifully expressing what many of your readers feel. You truly are a blessing, Dear One.
