Boot+Kitty=Poetry in motion

0 posted 2003-07-25 04:50 PM

I thought I'd write some poetry, and then I'd post it here.
It seems I haven't written in what feels a hundred years.
I haven't got the heart to write about kitties getting booted,
Since now I have two of those cuties, and it seems we are well suited.

I could write about the ladies who post so well their hearts,
But if I did and omitted one, it wouldn't be that smart.
I could post about my Lorelei; but, who would want to know?
And so it is I am at a loss for a subject for my prose.

I could tell a story about Balladeer, and his evil twin, old Toe.
But everybody has heard them all from a long, long time ago.
Although.....

Spinster Jane needed a lawyer, and so she called Barrister Balladeer,
It seems she needed a will prepared, as her time was drawing near.
So 'Deer paid Spinster Jane a visit at her lovely residence,
To help her name her heirs apparent in her last will and testament.

Said Spinster Jane, "I have 40,000, of which I will divide,"
"Five thousand for a special purpose, the rest for my last rites."
"You see, I have been a recluse, and I want to signify,
"That I was here just like them all, when my hearse passes people by."

"Yes ma'am," said 'Deer obsequiously, in his most ingratiating whine,
"And what do you command with the 5,000, that you apparently leave behind?"
SJ replied, "Buy me a man to enjoy, since I've abstained for all my life."
"I want to know what I have missed by being no man's wife."

So 'Deer went home and talked to Franny about this most unusual request,
And Franny thought, "Why not lend her 'Deer?  I could use some furniture for the deck."
So the next day Franny dropped 'Deer off, and parked beneathe the trees,
While 'Deer went in to Spinster Jane's to collect her carnally reserved 5G's.

An hour ticked by, and then one more, while Franny waited for her 'Deer,
She never thought he'd last that long.  Why hadn't he appeared?
Then 'Deer shouted from an upstairs window, "Honey, you'd better go home tonight,
"Spinster Jane is starting to consider County-administered last rites."

That ol' 'Deer - always willing to go the extra mile for more Green fees - tsk

At least that long... maybe TWO hundred! *G* But you obviously haven't lost your touch... (nor has Deer!!! ROFL!!)

Enjoyed this much, ya scalawag... don't be a stranger... ya don't have to kick kitties... I can think of a couple of other targets? *G*
