Further from the fire, the colder you get
abandon the source of desire, and forget
passions and longings,
a whispering inner voice:
"I need air to breathe"
and wondering why
I ever did leave
you

Robert...I felt the ache in your words.
So beautifully expressed.

So often we don't appreciate someone until they are gone...

So sad and so often true.

Warm hugs,

Air does feed the fire and without it ... POOF ... it is gone.

A poignant piece you have written here, dear Sir, and one that most likely will make a profound impression on many ... it did me.

I am glad I did not miss this one.

You never know what you got til it's gone...

Wonderful poem, and I love how you displayed it.  To me, it looked like a heart with a bow on top, hee hee.

"abandon the source of desire, and forget"

I guess sometimes out of sight really is out of mind.  Good to read you again RF.

Robert, welcome home.  This has such a sound of forlorn...and lonesome bell...

and the crackle of fire
fades to embers...
