Etched in the illusion of time

0 posted 2003-07-25 01:39 PM

'tween the folds of velvet in my dreams
I know of you
stirring like the autumn breeze
in November

sweet kisses of summer, still lingering on

wrapped midst the bittersweet parchment of
winter poetry
and dipped in the ink of my eventide

so dark, so blue

staining my beautiful hands with shadow
as I long to touch your face

oh, you painted me
in colors of the night
fingers trailing blackened honey
'cross
my lips

too precious

I am not worthy of this perfection
all sweet silence is captured
in your voice

it echoes

granting me peace 'mid this world of disquietude
alone

set me down on the edge
of illusion
and I will let my butterfly wings open
reflecting gold in the darkness
kissed with spring

I cannot fly

for if only you weren't so beautiful,
then maybe I could get away

For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch,
And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss.--"Romeo and Juliet"

Stirring write here.  Enjoyed the images, the butterfly wings, gold in the darkness.
Nice write. TD
