I am everyman, and I’m frightened
I wonder what the evening brings
I hear the stone, rolling
And see, the cave dimming
I am everyman, and I’m frightened

I pretend that I am finally made whole
Feeling what a young man once felt
Touching upon what could have been
Crying in secret, over milk that I’ve spilt
I am everyman, and I’m frightened

I do understand that what’s done is done
But believe, I may yet be redeemed
In dreaming away the “everyday”
I try to reconcile “who I am” with “what I am”
Hoping, I can at least acquaint them
I am everyman, and I’m frightened

Ed...To admit to being frightened, takes the courage of honesty ( one of the most important courages)... I already liked you, now, just more.  You're way cool!

Well now - outside of the cying over spilt milk, you took the words out of my mouth, that is if I even had them there in the first place.

Oh for goodness sake, someone give this man the "gold star" he earned it.     Awesome write, and isn't it amazing how honesty makes for the best poems?

You delight me once again.

You take the accessible and make it personal, then you took the personal and made it accessible to all.

Yes.  This haunts us all from time to time.

Thank you for sharing who you are in this one slice of time.

To be everyman would indeed be frightening... Where would one begin to unravel our wrongs... Nicely done, sir...

Me too~ Thanks wranx!
I'm afraid to write what I am, right now!!
I don't dare, for fear I might blubber!

That green light is looking way to green,
if you know what I mean.

Nice,  as always~
