standing on a shadow's lace

Intertwined

a gift to me was once bestowed
as I traveled down a garden road
its beauty hidden it was unknown
a precious rose hidden in thicket overgrown
there alone it sat on a prickly vine
tangled in stems and leaves intertwined
thorns tore my skin making me bleed
but I went on had to proceed
a far away look this urge would not settle
I had to get closer to touch its petals
the most beautiful thing I had ever seen
from heaven and earth and in between
what happened next was not what I planned
when I held it close it disappeared in my hand
things can catch you so unaware
but a moment was a lifetime standing there

This was wonderful.The imagery, your words, the flow.It's amazing sometimes to see the outcome of things.Very well done.
