It stays light
in July
until it seems
day has evolved
into a new kind of ever time,
Breaking rhythms,
rhythms of the darkness
turned to light
and back to dark again.
One is restrained from dusk
by endless day,
or so it seems,
perhaps it is the seams
That have parted
in the lengthening of morning
into noon
into afternoon
until
They are one the same,
no seams,
just endless day,
but I am no sophist,
No philosopher
spewing forth
erudite pronunciations
of the day
of the ever day,
Just one walking
treelined streets
observing mothers
with their disheveled hair
In wait for night
that never comes
while children
who should be in their beds
Run screaming
through the yards,
apparently the only creatures
who enjoy ever day,
as we search,
seek,
the passing of the ever day
and hopefully,
prayerfully,
the coming of the night.

Yes I agree the days in July seem to go on forever and again you are right children love these days ( at 16 I'm still loving them!) You have described every part of these everlasting days excellently! Great write!

Perhaps that is why so many take their vacatons during the month of July, to make the most of their days.  But woe to the mothers with young children who must endure them ... excellent points brought across in this write.

Enjoyed.

This was exactly
how yesterday felt...

I could only sense the feel
but you found the words.

the coming of the night'
