Moved from a shack to a barn

Sitting by the river
alone in quiet reverie

Watching unfocussed, the Sun
strike the water, Jasper
and dancing Emerald in the trees

Streams’ unintelligible whispers
and the sighing of the bower
slip away
under the gate of my awareness

While I watch a Raven dancing
worrying a mussel shell
in impatient pecking circles

His feathered back
as darkly iridescent as Mickies’ eyes
when she would give me that look

The one that said…..”Now!”

A great write about a great totem. You captured the paradox of the raven's stoic impatience. Thank you for sharing it.

"NOW..."

Hugs, m'yeti.

You continue to surpass yourself and that is saying something.

Ed...Now never sounds this pretty when I say it...hmmm, or maybe it does.  Loved the imagery, and the closing knocked my socks off.

Stunning imagery... with the perfect ending. *S*

And on a less serious note... I just hope I don't caw when I say now. *bratty grin*

I liked this very much, wranx! *S*
