where the wild flowers grow

The scent you'd
left behind.

I could not
inhale you,
for burning
causes
blisters in my memory.

Though
horrid tranquility
envelopes me in
silence,
I still kept
your face in mind.

As kissed a sunset.
Pictured a
blissful moment.
Intercepting angels,
starving for my
intellect.

I crept,
through my own home,
stole a wish from
my own star.
Free my lungs can
finally breathe
my own air.

I equalize the blame,
though I
have none to spare.
I
cruise through vaults of
trust and find
that I hope,
you choke
upon the lie.

~&~

All of your poetry
makes me want to reach out
squeeze love into you
and mother you,
unconditionally.

But that's probably going
overboard.

Excellent writing, Meghan.

Damn. Wish I'd written this. I think we have the same kind of person in our lives, who we'd like to choke some kind of sincerity out of.

I'm with Raph, perfect venom, perfect poem to ease heartbreak, so thanks M.

Instant karma's gonna get you.

Whoah!  A powerful write.  There are so many great lines in this piece.  The quote above...hmmm...I could reach out and touch this one in every dimension!

Excellent!
