Hamster in a metal cage
'round and 'round
I race
outpaced
trying to get off
this county fair merry-go-round
lift me up
and set me down
softly
please?

I paid my fair
for this sacred space
From this day forward
I will walk twice behind
It's ok, really
I like to rewind
or is that unwind?

Either way
I cant escape
your face
the memories
invade
even if I push
and pull
them away
Tough to dispel
myself

that
woman
I
once
knew
well

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your writing is just so absolutely phenominal, Sue... You need to let the rest of the world in on PIP's little secret, and publish as many of these as you can.

We see the light of those
Who find the world has passed them by
Too late to save a dream from growing cold...

"I paid my fair
for this sacred space"

Was this an accident? Fair, instead of fare. Because it adds a very interesting layer to the entire write.

And? You want help doing.....what? lol

It's a beauty, Susie

Wow, Sue...you did a great job on this.
You took that simple phrase and just ran with it,
and I love what you came up with.
Wonderfully done, my friend.

oh sue, you know I relate to this. this is too expressive and gut wrenching a write to be on the second page already...

Yep, even if you vault off the ride, you're still dizzy for a while afterward....hook your fingers through the fence and hang on until it passes....then go have cotton candy and three hot dogs with sauce and a root beer, to celebrate your newly settled innards.....

Yes, Sue, sometimes we want to just stay in that
space for awhile....that we have paid our "fair" for. I understand.
