sixty-four

Ohhhh ... that Beatles song
will you still need me
will you still feed me
when I'm sixty-four

yes we will if we
choose to pursue life
contrary to rules
refusing the norm

we do have options
we can make choices
as to how we wish
to spend our moments

by living for each
opportunity
and for each minute
stolen out of time

why don't we just stop
fretting over all
crazy boundaries or
thoughts of normalcy

do you want normal
the same old thing with
average regards and
ordinary days

surely not for we
bypassed all of that
long ago dodging
the conventional

plus what appeal does
that sort of life style
the mediocre
hold for you and me

I think we deserve
something more than that
a relationship
that feeds passion's needs

uniquely distinct
in our special world
in our special way
doing as we wish

you needing feeding
me needing feeding
each other in full
way past sixty-four

Janette

The Beatles reference was nice, and the 'needing feeding' was excellent wording. I really liked this and what it had to say about passion, at least to me in my own mind.

Enjoyed...I wrote one about the words of this song...but I don't think I ever posted it...I was wondering if any of the Beatles would make it to sixty four...I certainly hope so...both Paul and Ringo seem to be healthy...most importantly I hope they will enjoy the fruits of their labors...James

gemjop - thanks for the read and yes the Beatles do have some excellent lyrics and tunes that just seem to last and last.

PKreturns - this was indeed about passion ... smart reader ... thank you for leaving me this note.

Earth Angel - Ohhhhh, "Happy Birthday" greetings for way way way in advance ... how fun ... thank you.

catalinamoon - Of course you know what I am thinking ... *wink*  Thanks girl friend.

JamesMichael - Oh , please post your Beatles poem for I would love to read it.  And fortunately each of these men from that group will live on into eternity with their music.  Thank you for stopping by to read me.
