I want this spicy to my tongue--
the crack of claw yearns crabbiness
take this pilfering, regret--
and toss a bit of beer to left
toe the liquid
circling
and feel the moat
of sand and feet
so insipid--
so hard knee'd--
take ye, ME--
the pilfering.

A little lift of land
is sky
mountains
are just clouds of point
drifting pillow
willow's wind
against
the great skyscape.

I am gremlin on the wing.
I am flight of "want-some-more"
I am the drift of down of feet.
I am the tale survivors swore
that never could be there--much more
than living through this crash of flame.

I am the one who walks away,
never once do I look back.
I cross the meat upon the track--
I watch the wheels make mince.

God Karen . . .
you know what - ok this is going to be a long one . . .

I read "Buried Alive" awesome
biography of Joplin and in it one of
her college roomies said that when
the world recognized her . . . she was
blowing their minds at half volume . . .
Can you imagine that?
We never got to hear her full throttle!

Well, I see you in the same light . . .
and to see the whole of you
would truly be too much beauty for
the mortal being to bear.

You are amazing . . .

they're in front of us
they're behind us
they're to the left of us
to the right of us
no way in hell
are they gonna get away
from us
this time....

Well, of course.

I really don't know which part is my favorite, so I pick the whole.  Wonderful read.

Karen...I've been back to this one so many times now.
I keep reading and re-reading and fooling myself
into thinking that I'll actually come up with something
profound to say about it
.
Well...it ain't gonna happen, so I'll just do the
best I can with what I've got.

This is an awesome write, as are all of yours, but
there was just something about this one that grabbed me.
I can't explain what it was, but it just ate at me...
made me keep coming back and kept me trying to gain
a deeper understanding of it.

I'm rambling now, so I'll shut up, but...
bottom line?...I felt this one...and I love it.

You are amazing.  Love you, lady.

to exist than to exist forever and never be a part of beauty"
