Did time bear the pain
Tears cried and stained
The shadows of a mind
Just trying to be kind
Hugging the wind
Releasing the sin
We ran through the night

Holding on tight
Fearful of the blight
The bell tolled
The thunder rolled
Feeling thoughts unfold
Was I up for the tryst
Someone held my wrist
I wanted to make a fist

No sounds
Just hounds
Out of bounds
Telling tales
Sliding snails
The face was pale
Lights shouted flashing
No more bashing trashing
Blushing my mind went crashing

Sorrow was all around
As they walked their way
Lifelessness seemed to invade everything
Time wanted nothing of their thoughts
A harrowing light dashed their path
Terror gripped them in their fright
Why questions engulfed them
Answers avoided them
Or were not understood

They raced trying to collect the light
They cried when it wasn’t for them
Harsh words divided them
Hatred grinned a terrible fate
No sound – no love
How can this be
Why can’t it be other
Cry – hissed the sinful brother

An errant thought slithered thorough
A gnarled hand collected light
A twisted face smiled light into a flimsy path
They ran the path
The chased the light
Fright lost
Light wrapped them in flimsy
Time answered questions but will they
…be understood…

Paul...You travel deep to pull out these thoughts and emotions...that makes for powerful writing.  Great reading, my friend!
