Callused and hardened to the barbs
never on one side or the other

I rode the fence line.

I wore my scars inside out
as commemoration of my passage.

Miles and miles of life I wasted.

The fence and I we grew old;
comforted in the passing of each post
that crossed my path.

And then came the day the fence line
ended.

A choice is forced, which side is mine;
which side shall become me?

Smooth trodden, one worryingly edges
towards the all too familiar, but

the other only promises Light.

Furious at the fence for ending,
on my knees, frightened and sobbing-
I had nowhere and everywhere to go.

Lost and all alone, naught to hold on to.
Childhood commitment remembered
a Sheppard,

Redemption and a Savior who died
to open the Way.

My heart, more than
broken and empty, bore witness
to the Signs of Life.

In faith I submitted; In faith I repented.

Towards the Light I took a step, and then
I took another...

I could share all these feelings..except I am still on that fence line...with  clouds in the offering.

M, each person comes to a time of choosing, and you will make the right choice when it is time for yours

Poignant.  And ponderous with choices.
