Silent Dream

My life-long friend got married today
I stood up for his bride
Such deep devotion they two share
I could not help but cry

Their vows were spoken from the heart
No script or prompting needed
I wonder if he knows
Each word she said my heart repeated

She truly loves him from her soul
She'll cherish him I know
But can he see deep in my heart
My love for him still grows

My life-long dream was silenced today
In their romantic bliss
And as I looked into his eyes
His bride stole my last kiss

The only thing I can think of to say undermines the entire thing very badly, so I'll just keep my mouth shut. It was good.... just not particularly pleasant....

It's ok. I still love you!

It was sad and twisted.
Though, happy and loveable.
Your pain was felt.
Two thumbs up!
Check out my post "jo"

Ive been there...not in your shoes but in the pue, watching it happen but in a not so nice way...there is honor in realizing someone elses love for the person in your heart is real as much as your own is...i too was left speechless...

Well that's no fair, and kind of hard to watch.
I suppose it adds closure if nothing else.

Peace good poetess~

Vicky...It takes courage to be the friend of your friend under these circumstances.  I commend your heart!
