Between Thoughts

Today I felt the calm of me,
no past reminding what's undone.
Though eyes I watched, to see a sign
displaced I felt, of stirring none.

The "use to"s have become sedated,
as sister thoughts have run their course.
Today I felt the calm of me,
wondering if it was remorse.

I tried the look, the one that says
for you I am, if that's your choice.
The power of the eyes have spoken,
even though no words did voice.

It's déjà vu, illusioned twice
or maybe three times, I've lost score.
As time stands still, we're worlds apart
as I await the next of more.

I held my heart in open hand
reaching out, was all to do.
The scars of wanting, undefined
the touch-me chance of charming you.

Today I felt the calm of me
the blending of my words refined
that play among the shadows dark
caught between thoughts intertwined.
