Crash landing in my chest, leave a scar but not a bruise
Scrape the insides, collect every last bit, I’m going nowhere
Planes and then plains, a stillness we felt together
Dunes and dust and sand, always with the sand, crystal white
Frailties and discontent with both of us to blame
Inverted colors rolling in waves- never eager...always eager
The awkward silence and pause, a dot a dot a dot
Turning angles and breaking squares, don’t you hate this routine?
I’m not a poet and you’re not a romantic, drop yours and I’ll drop mine
I’ve never been uncovered, nobody knows completely, I like it this way
Just like a statue, encryptions of artful deceit and broken words
And in the end I’ll have nothing left to say because it will all be written
They’ll look at you and see my past, they’ll see what I never could
The prospect of reflection, mirror images for eternity
But no worries there, no worries here, it will all be alright
It will all be ok, because my eye’s on the prize and I don’t remember you at all
I’m saying goodbye tonight just as I did the last and I’ll put it all to pad
I’ll put it all to bed, alone and resting like a sentence without a period
Like a paragraph without pause

Welcome to Passions, William.  This was an especially telling line, "I’m not a poet and you’re not a romantic, drop yours and I’ll drop mine" and spoke volumes.

Looking forward to reading more of your work.

Welcome to Passions~

'I’ll put it all to pad'

That's just the thing to do, so that we may enjoy it too~

'resting like a sentence without a period'  A real killer line of thought !

I enjoyed this for all the right reasons
and perhaps the wrong ones too.
Such a heart breaking beauty of a poem.
Thanks for getting up close, in my face!
This was so good, and worth reading over a couple dozen times.

Please stay and post more, it's been a pleasure.

Welcome Deus~
