I’ll Remember

My eyes have dimmed to worldly sight
And taste has lost its sharp of bite
My skin has turned to paper-thin
And hearing hears a lesser din.

And pages turn a quicker pace
And age takes on a quicker race
And aches and pains replace the joy
The paint has tarnished on this boy.

I eat too much for what I do
And read the check through glasses view
Where music was my fantasy
My hearing aids tinned ecstasy.

Where change has always made a rush
I blush and pass it on in flush
I seem oblivious to most
And time has turned my hide to toast.

So if some day I do not see
Just stop and say remember me?
I’ll remember.

Good morning Seymour
I love this poem you've gifted us with today.
And this ending is so cute.....

So if some day I do not see
Just stop and say remember me?
I’ll remember

LOL  I have a feeling that your memory is very keen and sharp.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.
Hugs

If a day comes you can't see,
The archives will be there for me
To dine on words of wisdom said
Until I feel my heart is fed.

For you will never be far away
Sy words of wisdom are here to stay!

Psst...look at the time I posted this - will wonders never cease?

Good afternoon, Mr. T. ~

It would be wonderful if you were to have a book--or books!--published of your wonderful sonnets!

I also wanted to add something else to my reply, but I cannot remember what it was!

Nothing to forgive, glad for your company and tea in the afternoon woulld be fine.

Skyfire
And I like you.

Martie
Toast and jam, now that's just fine.

Earth Angel
Now if that isn't a cute answer. And I did get some fifty of my older poems together
But I need to find a reasonable book binder
If I do I'll send you a copy.

Seymour! Hello! I am back from my sister's and had such a lovely time that I miss her already and it's only been a few hours.
Now, how could we possibly forget you? Or...how could you forget any of us? Each of us has touched each other's hearts with our openess of words. That's a blessing!
I know it's late, so I will just let you decide when you would like these lovely butter tarts.   hugs, Chris

What a beauty this is! *S* There are some things we'll remember no matter how our senses might fail us... for the knowledge is embedded in our very cells. Friendship is one of those things... even if we need a little prompting on the names. *S* Big hugs to you, my friend... I'll remember this write. *S*

But in case I forget it's in my library... could you put me on the list for one of your books, too? *S* Pretty please? *S*
