Immaturity seeded; neglect tended.
And now to the bargaining table
resentment brings the harvest.

Blame bloomed into bitterness-
freshly cut and vased or
forever kept withered, dried
and pressed between memories;
it remains.

Covetous and control were
cultivated, intermixed,
too similar to separate
too strong to be weeded.

Deep rooted, hatred’s seed
waits not for an opportune season
its fruition is year round.

Droplets tainted with saline
irrigate the ground;
the sun does not shine.

A half century it takes to wonder
what developed of love’s seed
and to where has intimacy
disappeared-but looking locates
lonely remains strangled
among the briars.

Neglect tended what immaturity seeded
and now come harvest time
even the sheaves
are crying.

This...leaves me speechless.

The words are so profound that I could not isolate my favorite.  Beautiful.

Oh, lady... it's hard to applaud the perfection of the poem when the pain is so obvious... but your images are too superb to ignore. Hugs... me.

I like this J-beans. The way it slides along the edge, not quite falling into bitterness.

Sad? Yes
Strong? Yes

wranx, thank you, and yes I am still in the 'weeding' process, so the bitterness grows less and less....thanks again
