Moments of Silence

The worst my love has ever shone
Is when she leaves and she is gone.
It’s then I feel the ghostly flair
Of loneliness and of despair

I seemed to know her when we met
T’was like a chill when you are wet
And though she had no history
I knew she was the girl for me.

She often climbs upon my back
And pounds my head with what I lack
But that is not an evil thing
And come to be a loving sting.

She seems to go through life in trot
For she would do and I would not
And though we seem at odds all day
For sixty years it’s been that way.

And e’er some day there come an end
I would with her around the bend.

When I read this, I cannot tell you what a warmth and smile this gave my heart...unconditional love...is what it's all about...you love her for the unique flaws that no one else has, which makes her extremely special, for you and you only.
Bless you both, and also for this write.

Sy...it's a wise man
who remembers the reasons
for which he said
I do.

Time changes us all...
bless your heart
for being open
to the vagaries
of freshness.

Ahhhh Sybabes..this is soooo sweet...
absence makes the heart grow fonder and the pen inspired
How tender are your words ...
a lovely rhyme bouquet for your dear Isabel.
60 years... amazing.

Meanings are full of friends,

JM,
61 next month, I'll write you an Email today sometime. When she got home last night she said something about getting in on the 9th. But I'll write you all the particulars. WWRS

Seymour, what a beautiful love poem to your Isabel. This part reminds me of my Mom and Dad. They've been married all these years and still act like teen-agers in love.  LOL

She seems to go through life in trot
For she would do and I would not
And though we seem at odds all day
For sixty years it’s been that way.

And this part sounds like me and my Honey-Love.....

I seemed to know her when we met
T’was like a chill when you are wet
And though she had no history
I knew she was the girl for me.

I'm keeping this if you don't mind. It's just beautiful.
Hugs and wishes for a wonderful day
Ethel

Although we only have 33 years to our credit, I feel the same as you.

Thanks a million,

Well I know the "evil sting" first hand, and she doesn't fool me one bit.  She is the sweetest, kindest, most caring soul I have yet to come across, and I darn near cried reading this, as I guess time sees through all the barriers doesn't it m'friend.  As I said before and will again, why on earth can't they get it right today?  You two have something so special that is unique.

This is the sweetest and darlingest poem I've ever read. You are both to be congratulated that your love has lasted and grown. (And I know exactly what you mean about her going through life in a trot-that's the most lasting impression I have of her! )

Sy, CONGRATULATIONS to you and your lovely bride. 60 years is an absolute milestone and you should both be very proud of yourselves.

We are 34 in March and I thought that was unbelievable!

Celebrate and have a fabulous time!

Oh, love the poem!
