Crossing the verrazano
for the call back home,
i cannot choose my sky today
as it's already claimed me,

life and death interwoven,
morphed into a solitary cloud,

somber views
match somber moods,

reality hovers overhead
dense as fog,
over cityproject grey
that scrapes the sky,

even the towering weeds
that line the shoulder of the Belt
won't lure me to Kansas today,
as they aren't looking
like stalks of golden wheat right now,

i don't want to click the ruby red slippers,
i dont want to be Dorothy in the bible belt today,
i just want to play in OZ, for a while

* the belt is a parkway connecting NJ to BrooklynNY*

I'd rather be anywhere but here today
Busch Gardens - Hawaii - California -
just about anywhere if I could feel carefree
happy & loved

Yes yes these lines:

i cannot choose my sky today
as it's already claimed me,

- these lines God remind me of Morrison:

"Awake, shake dreams from your hair, my child , my pretty one.  Choose the day, the day's divinity . . . first thing you see . . ."

I do know that city grey Michele
brilliant

Wouldn't it have been a silly thing if
Dorothy pleaded to stay?

Nah.

Great write!

lay it on ya? ... sounds kinda kinky, but
uh....I guess I can relate. I'd prefer being
in Heaven then here.
