How freely judgment rolls
from tongues and quills
without the benefit of the story

A jury of gods and monsters
of bishops and whores
who whisper always
who whisper nothing

I spit the bitter taste
of what you call 'friendship'
the truth lies between the two

I'll see the rest of you in hell

Careful now Raph~  Not that I misunderstood your words, (quite the contrary)....I just don't want to see you locked up.

Blues is it just the use of the word whore? I just used it to counter bishop it's not intented to be a literal attack on anyone or is it something else?

Wow....this is raw, yet, extremely well expressed.  Good for you, Raph...the truth always wins in the end, though the way there may feel like hell.

Uh huh,  I know all about those little voices...
and word whores, she wrote a couple of my poems when I wasn't looking!

Gotta cover our bases somehow, right?

Goodness, Raph. Who did something to you? This is hard....

I spit the bitter taste
of what you call 'friendship'
the truth lies between the two

I'll see the rest of you in hell

Sounds to me like you're telling everybody to go there!?!

Poetically 'whore' should be acceptable.

Yes, it is perhaps a word used for shock value, but, it has been effectively and powerfully used within the context of your message, Raph.
In my opinion and in many dictionaries, 'whore' can also mean lewd, corrupted or a debauchery of life.  And of course, it's most common meaning - of prostituting oneself...which doesn't always have to be for sex. I like the way you used it here.

Besides, if the mods lock this poem, they are hypocrites because I have seen a plethora of other respected poets here use far worse words and images.

Okay, so I rambled, but, I seriously think that you have nothing to worry about...your poem should be safe.

well now.

I could ask you, what someone asked ME last week:

"who's been sprinkling yer cornflakes?" (paraphrased)

Smile.

A powerful poem, Raph.

I KNOW this feeling quite well.

Thanks Melissa and yes I don't think there's anything wrong with the usage either but who knows. The truth doesn't always wind but i couldn't care less with these words I've detached myself from the outcome high school was over a long time ago

Lol Blues..well appreciate the concern if anybody feels it should be pulled then maybe we should post nothing but roses are red poems

NO NO Ethel only those who've had the nerve to comment on something that's none of their business I know yer going to heaven lol put in a good word for me ok

Thanks K..percocet and cornflake..mm goodness

"I'll see the rest of you in hell"---don't be in too much of a hurry to get there! I hear hell is HELL!

You love that line you walk, don't you! Yes, shock does have value! LOL

Warm hugs & a smile,

I am slowly learning that those who do this are not worth the hateful feelings they tend to breed...better off just feeling sorry for them.

I enjoyed this poem-it's raw and bitter and powerfully written. The bishops and whores line is good, but I especially like the 'I'll see the rest of you in hell' line. Real emotion can certainly bleed over into an outstanding poem.

Raph - noted your comment on the use of your verbiage - in this context, I see nothing wrong with it...

as for the poem?

It stands alone, m'friend...

and it does it on two legs.

Damn. Raph... talk about intense. Remind me not to upset you.
Since I'll probably get there before you, I'll be sure to save you a primo seat... somewhere near the dancing girls and booze

We see the light of those
Who find the world has passed them by
Too late to save a dream from growing cold...
