I close my eyes
and run my fingers over dreams

Over scars that read as braille
a message clear from inner child

"I hate what we've become"

oh. I can't even describe this. I'm keeping this in my library

Don't it allways seem to go,
that you don't know what you've got till' it's gone

the succinct impact of this is poetic perfection...

I keep hoping that we can open our eyes and rewrite ourselves a new ending.

well done poet sir.

Well ... OK ... but you have to wash it first.

I'm at a loss for words to describe the impact this had on me.
I overuse "Damn" So I'm just gonna sit back in silent admiration of your talent.  And yes, I relate!

I will tell you honestly that these few powerful words left tears in my eyes... I'll also tell you that no matter how many the years, how deep the scars, peace in the mirror is possible. It took 4 decades for your last line to not be mine... redefining came after I'd given up hoping for it.

YES.  This is a keeper...onto the shelf it goes!

Aenimal,

Oh..this makes me want to hold and rock with you...yep..I know...but once you get away from it you start to like yourself again and the scars aren't so raised...

I loved this.

yes, me too. faceless, heartless, monsters, ready to skin eachother alive, greedy, small minded, selfish.

But those who inflict these feelings upon us, give us the passion to search for something more, and to be someone else. Do they not?

There is beautiful to be found, and even the peaceful have their battle scars. Prime example, Ethel. Think of her, and remember the good exist..somewhere.

pah, thanks for making me rant.
