this is my life again
perhaps, this time, the way it should have been
lost in a secluded Saturday twilight corner
hearing the words of other lives
over the subtle soundtrack of a time now found
beating again in rhythm with the world

yes, perhaps this is the way it should have been
with me, observing the world
while never really being a part of it
studying the lines and colors, the names and faces
          like an apathetic aesthete
who never really understood why all the lines had to be straight
and why all the colors had to be black and white

so, here I am
settling back into a life that feels like my own again
          knowing where I am
but, not knowing where I'm going
                  not wondering about tomorrow
          but, being aware of today

this is my life again
yes, this is the way that it should always be
lost in my secluded Saturday twilight corner with you
watching the world go by
          and, remembering it here,
                             so that I never forget
                      what it's like
to be a part of it

Your "Saturday twilight corner" sounds like a nice tranquil place to reflect.  A good place to be...

Especially since it inspired this piece, which I really enjoyed.
