The Awakening

Life was dark and lonely
The heart cold and still
And love, a bitter memory
That tormented the mind at will.

Then upon the far horizon,
Of this wreck of humanity
There dawned a ray of pure joy
Thus ending the solemn monotony.

The heart now throbs with warmth
And life’s a wondrous thrill
And love, a sweet heady wine
That inebriates the mind at will.

Anwarr...
Seems as if your heart has reached the goal that all hearts strive for...:-)
Nicely written, begining, middle, and end stanza....says a lot , but with fine poetic brevity....enjoyed the read......ice
