Turned Down

We disappoint each other
left unsaid the spaces
pass      instead
turn away     turn away
a whisper eases into the silence
it stains the bed

When is time more then before or after
step on it       faster
the dance is fed
circle      circle
come back to the shoulder
turn it slower

Even past the opening gown
the folder remains open
the page turned down

another chapter animated
another revolution
a paragraph
escapes the pen
again
and trends
in our direction
in the bent
of ample

Oh, the agony that can be expressed in sixty-four words....May the fullness of it never be fully true, and may it always be poetic license, extrapolating from a little pain into the greater unknown. If not, my heart goes out to you, and........to anyone.

This one tugs at the heart, Martie.

'silence...it stains the bed'  Martie, this is descriptive beyond words!  Excellent, even though the truth of it is so very sad.

If hurt can be described in letters and syllables, you just did.
