oh Diaspora
you would
weep
with me
at your breast
my city
of exile
for always
do I
mourn
Jerusalem

in whose house
with all your
palladia
Diaspora
you would weep
at my kiss
for always
do I
mourn
Jerusalem

and though
you beseech
amelioration
Diaspora
my fair
Diaspora
you would weep

you would weep

for always
do I
mourn
Jerusalem

no Shalem
in me
no
shalom

you would weep
Diaspora

you would weep

Don't tell me to get a life -- I have one on backorder.

I always weep a Shalom cry for Jerusalem.
You've stirred so many memories with this one.

I'm always having to go looking for you...

tsk, tsk, tsk t'me.

The sybolism of your metaphor alone is worthy of a 50 page treatise on the subject, but? You already KNOW I loved this one--I just came back to let everyone else know that I did too.

It's well worth doing the research, people.

Excellent work, Reb.

Diaspora refers to the dispersal of the Jewish people amongst the Gentiles, and generally references events between the 6-8th centuries BC.
In a more general sense, it can also mean the dispersal of any group of people away from their homelands.
