Her name is Symphonic Wind
and she is a gentle mare,
a great beginner’s mount
who glides and bends gracefully
over poles and jumps
in a dusty lesson arena.

When you come as a student
to groom and tack up this sweet mare,
if you pay close attention to Equis,
the natural language of the horse,
you will learn far more than
how to move from point A to B
in style,safely.

Listen carefully, watch and observe.
for the Symphonic Wind
teaches lessons of
forbearance, patience,
persistence, understanding,
respect and compassion.
And if you give these to her
in each encounter
you will find all channels
of communication are wide open.

Come to think of it,
this technique works equally well
with two legged creatures.

Kacy this is so lovely...
and reminded me much of The Horse Whisperer.

Thanks for reading, Nancy. Yes, Monty Roberts (a horse whisperer) learned to speak Equis, and proved to many people that horse-speak makes good sense.

Yep, Kacy, it does.

I liked this, and like Nancy Lee, I thought
of the movie, The Horse Whisperer,
too. I loved that movie.

Ethel, thanks! Yes, I've read the book, seen the movie, experienced the truth of the message first hand.

Well penned!  What we should already know as humans, we are taught such humane lessons by the animal kingdom!

Kacy:

I adore horses . . . simply adore
You see into this world as others do not
You amaze me Lady
Had to laugh at the human reference
yes indeed

Gina, thank you. Yes, we should already be able to BE as the horse.

LittlewingedSue, thank you. There is something magical that happens when you connect spiritually to another living creature. Horses can cross the barrier we humans often put up, if we just take the time to listen and feel the energy of the earth from their POV.

Minite

I have a feeling you are a teacher as well as a student.  Love horses, and this sensitive poem.

Thanks Marge. It is a great name. She occasionally fits her name in audio, but mostly, she tends to stop mid-lesson to take a leak.
