Caught so late from under a park bench
disperse, disperse...you midnight wench.
The hour has struck and you're still here
to challenge urban laws with no fear?

Out of heart..out of mind
after midnight the recluse you can find
homeless too with absent shelters
disperse, disperse...run helter-skelter.
Enter the trusted homeless..their makeshift tents
unlike parkside residents who pay their rents.

Watch homeless shows under boughs of trees
secure your place on evening TV.
Spend on condos on the other side
amazed at what Lafontaine park hides:
dispersals of the human kind
rejected by the city blind.

Silly me..so quaintly housed,
why would this have me aroused?

Of construction rackets in my midst
and on park land midnight squatters insist;
they have a 'right' to stay at night
no common housing has caused this blight

Disperse, disperse...you midnight wench,
caught so late from under a park bench

In fuzz catalogues they gleefully go,
an after midnight law-enacted show;
gendarmes with sticks to beat in sense
on midnight lodgers to exit hence.

Rehearse your dispersion midnight wench,
as the stick knocks the boards of the bench.

A very sad scene too often repeated 'round the globe, while many vacant homes sit idle; not to mention all the food that hits dumpsters while thousands starve.

And yet we call ourselves superior beings.

Hi Midnite,

thanks for sharing..yes the world is full of stark contrasts as this! added the name of the park in the news and it could be any, just to give this some distinction
