darkness falls once more
the light which held
his lowly heart in the joys
of undying love for life
snuffed out by the cold truth
that the love this lowly poet
has searched for so long
is truly beyond his grasp
never again shall he witness
the bounties of the love
which he holds so dear
never again shall happiness
well up from within
because the vast emptiness
within his hollow heart
has consumed his entire being
the lonely shadow
shall never bask in the light
of the joy all but forgotten
he will see the light no more
for his tattered soul shall roam
in everlasting darkness

Fear destroys the mind, depression destroys the soul... only love and compassion may save you from death.

____
i loved the damp feeling your poem gave out...it felt like i could feal the environment you were creating.
