where the wild flowers grow

Oh, hello,
little flaw upon my body.

Counted several here and there.
Over one hundred scars
encarved their way
down my legs and throughout
the surface
that makes me.

And what about
excersize?
Is my size
really that important?
I should run a few miles everyday,
calculate
my calorie
intake.

I'm trying to perfect myself, here,
no room for any mistakes.

Should I
look into surgery?
Save my hard earned money,
to completely erase WHO I AM? To be more satisfied with what I see in the
mirror?

Because, we all know..

that a reflection is worth the
starvation.

the feeling in your poetry shines throughout...Poetry for me is an emotional release.  There are somethings that are hard to talk about in the first person and I find myself hovering above what I really want to talk about.  It might help to write this in the third person, and talk about your experiences and feelings through a poetic character.

Aside from that...your honesty here is wonderfull..i cant wait to see more of your work.

Wow, what a raw, hard-hitting poem.
I do relate, although each case is uniquely different.  I suffered from this and other self-sabotaging diseases when I was in my teen years and early adult years....
only those who have gone through this can understand it's devastation and pain.  I'm sorry that you know this, it's not something that I would wish even on my worst enemy.

Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world!

I guess it depends what the person feels...my friend went in to have surgery, she felt better about herself then...she's still a friend one way or the other to me
