They tell me I am dying
I laughed at them,
and one said, "It's denial."
I thought that comment
cleared his mind,
yet was very strange;
I don't know a single soul
who is getting out alive.

They say humor is good for you.  But, I don't think it can cure death...only make it more pleasant?  Truthfully, this touched me in the vulnerable place of it's truth.

Agreeing with the others...this touches both heart and mind.
Well done.

Thank you all for your kind words.  Doctors are wrong more times than they are right.

The people I have met here have shown more kindness and friendship than I have found in the "real world" in almost 6 decades of this life.  It is a great gift and I thank you all.

I don't like where this is going....is this real life writing?

please tell me it's just something you thought up out of the blue, not from your own experience...

Iceman, I know this very well. Doctors aren't always right...they just guess a lot of times.

well inherently man -- the doctors are right -- eventually -- as you say -- but they don't have much poetry in them...

maybe thats why I don't care for most of them...

I hope your journey is without pain

I am feeling so much better these days now that I've stopped listening to doctors and am listening to my body and my own heartbeat, and following my own instincts.

And yet, sometimes those Doctors can be helpful.

Was it WC Fields who said not to take life seriously, since you never get out of it alive? I heard that long ago, but am fuzzy on who said it first.
