Atop the Diamondhead
so peaceful and serine
feeling the wind's soothing touch
and the sun's warm embrace
looking down upon the world below
an endless sea of pure blue
with crests, white as snow
crashing against the shore
to the west, beyond the sandy beaches
past the life of civilation below
I see the mountaintops
reaching toward the heavens
peaks of brilliant green
like emerald spires amidst pale blue sky
feeling totally at peace here
wishing I could stay for all time
for this is truly my vision of Eden
but alas, I must return home
to skies of lifeless gray
to the cold and harsh world
of the lonely shadow
but I shall return one day
to relive this vision of beauty
to visit once more
my paradise across the sea

Oh what fantastic imagery here!
And this is the one place I would love to visit!
Very nicely written.

Thank you for your kind words.  I wish to return.  But, I must wait...
