Listening to every heart

Seasons Reasoned

The cool spring’s morn now wanes in love’s eclipse
New green for eyes has come and then slips by
Our summer’s passing in butterfly flips
High blues and sun have thus hued the sky
Now comes soon call that in august we lean
To harvest mature fruits and lush berries
Of tinctured reds, golds, which ripen our scene
Before snow falls, that we all make merry
Mead’s brew shall swell from vast harvests stored
Smoked meats or pickled, all shall feed so well
Thy fisher’s nets fill, they return to shore
As winter’s harsh winds blow, sounding church bell
Snow shall carpet, and thy footfall be hushed
Till spring comes again, then winter be crushed

~*~

I'm still working on sonnets...suggestions, comments, ripe tomatoes appreciated....

Sunshine - another excellent write, but not yet, not yet, I want to enjoy the summer before the autumn rears her head...

You have captured all my favorite things about each season.

There is nothing better then a "cool spring morn" and a "bitterly flips" brings big smiles to my face and heart.

Fall and winter are my all time favorites of the year. "As winter's harsh winds blow, sounding church bell" I can feel and hear as I read it.

Great write.

Hugs, DozenRoses4UV
