Forsaken Dear Children, it is time to go Dry your tears, bid adieu She will not come… call no more Silence greets us yet once more. Reason knows not why it is so Of love and loved ones she let go. Lost is she to our cry and plea Lost forever to us … Oh! Lost are we. Once there was nought but harmony, We thought ‘twould be so for eternity; ‘Twas heaven to be in her embrace In her gentle touch such solace Her voice sweet as music to the ears To quiet all and quell fears But unheeded now goes our plea Our cry of torment … Oh! Tormented are we One day we will return to this place To pay our homage to her grace Will try to be strong, try to be brave Comfort each other around her grave We will sing of loneliness, and of pain Knowing alas, we sing in vain We will sing of our grief, our forlorn plea The song of the forsaken … Oh! Earthangel, thank you for your comments...no, happily this is not from my experience...most tragic poems that I have written are based on other people's experiences...I simply try to express what I think they would feel.... Anwaar |
