In search of the treasures of Auguste,
I stroll silently
along a southern sandy beach.
Pelicans, gulls and sandpipers
sit within arms reach.
I find Michael by the waters edge,
paint brushes in hand
deftly painting proud sails upon the seas,
warm sand beneath his toes and
knees in graceful genuflect,
thanking his God
in gift of art,
seeking the
warmth of healing
only his God can truly offer.

He wields in his hand
the power to share
many beauties of the sea,
and all creatures that abide there.
As I quietly slip past,
so as not to disturb him,
I notice the birds on the shoreline
watching each brushstroke,
and their combined concentrated gaze tells me
they are thankful for people like Michael,
who honor all life with unconditional love.
****

For our passionate poet and artist,
Michael Auguste. Be well, friend.

Thank you so much for this wonderful write.
I knew I had been missing someone very important here at Pip...

Imagine a poet without words...yes, dear one, this touches the core of who I am, honestly, leaves me a bit speechless, not beacause I don't have words, but in all honesty, am simply overcome by the sheer kindness of such a thing.  I only wish I could thank you properly enough so that others could "feel" what it is that I'm feeling now.  I'm more touched than you'd likely realize.  Thank you, dearly.

I'm not trying to cause any undue concern, but no, I'm not feeling much better.  My short and long term memory are still severely compromised and the pain is relentless.  However, there is good news of sorts.  The nausea has passed, at least for now, praise God, so I'm beginning to eat again, though only one small meal a day for now.

Today was a good day, my mind was less unclear, though I hadn't slept well, but am getting used to that lately.  I went to the park, fed the ducks, the greedy ones biting the hand that feeds them, LOL.  Hey, just like the "real" world, huh?     But yes, today was a better day and I was able to eat a small meal and keep it down.

Only God knows how much I truly appreciate your prayers and caring.  Please know that each of you means so very much to me.  Yes, it's a struggle, but I've had to be a fighter all my life.  My father taught me that early on and a very good life lesson it has been.  It has served me well through the years and is serving me even better lately.

I believe that through adversity we grow stronger and I believe I'll come out all the better for this, having learned more about life, about myself, about my friends and my relationships with them will only grow all the more close, IF, they can put up with me through this right now, LOL.  My poor friends, sheesh, you have more courage than I do, LOL!

Okay, I won't kid you, it's rough and very much so, but I have so much faith in God, His healing and caring that I know my life can only improve, so please have no worries, okay?  All I ask is that you please be patient with me for now, be patient with God as well, then look for a healing, not something out of a Warner Bros. movie,   but the REAL thing, because it WILL happen, my friends, that's a promise.  How do I know that?  Ask God!       My best to each of you and may God truly bless you all.  Thank you!

I am so sorry for the constant pain, Michael.
But it is good to hear you spent time outside with nature. I know how much you enjoy the pelicans and shore birds, and your paintings prove you have a keen eye for nature.
We will all be here whenver you want to chat, and its even OK to complain. Next time, I'll have to come up with a joke or silly story to make you laugh. Laughter has great healing power.
Till tomorrow or the next visit, sleep well, and know you have many friends here who care. And give your son and wife big hugs from us.

Deep in our hearts a part of us always tends to cling to this place no matter what our circumstances have become, because unlike so many other poetry sites, this one truly is a home of caring, loving people and friends.  This place has "heart" and isn't that what poetry is really about?  I've always loved it here and will post again when I am able to do so.

May God bless you and yours, Kacy, and may God also bless this wonderful home we've all come to know and love.

The nausea has passed, the ulcer backing off now.  I'm taking almost no medication at this point so that the ulcer will try to heal as best it can.  I've lost a good deal of weight, but I'll be able to gain it back in a few months, so that's not a worry.

However, my memory is still a big problem, my short term memory that is, because cutting back severely on the meds is what caused it.  Given time, my mind will get used to the cut back and my short term memory will return.  In fact, today it was pretty good.  Even so, that is only temporary, as I have to increase my meds very slowly so that the pain can be gotten under control.

I used my cast net today and caught some shrimp for bait, as well as caught some small fish for my wild Egret, Eddie.  He's beautiful.  If you don't know what an Egret looks like, Eddie is called a Great Egret and he's snow white, perfectly gorgeous, with gold eyes.  I'm a sucker, he makes me catch fish for him.  Well...in all honesty, I do it because I love him so much.

Today I'm going to the park to feed the ducks and a squirrel that has taken a liking to me.  WAIT!!!!   Don't OLD men do that, feed animals, pigeons, and that sort of thing?  YIKES!!!  Heck, I don't care if they do.  I love feeding the little beggars. LOL

May God dearly bless each of you.  Thank you so much for your kindness.

Thank you, Kacy, but unfortunately, more than a solid week of rain.   We have our rain girl, SEA, but I much more prefer the sun.

I hope all is well with you and yours, dear one.

In some ways I'm doing better, so please pass that along.  My memory, at least portions of it, has returned, though it's still quite a problem.  I'm sure over time it will eventually clear up as best it can.  (Crossing my fingers here

Seriously, I'm doing better right now, so please have no worries, any of you.  My prayers and hugs to you all, my love as well.
