where the wild flowers grow

I sift through boxes left
in my closet all season.
Warm season,
enclosed in
box.

Sweet flower, do tell me,
why is it that you smell so
familiar?
Nectar, sap beneath my
fingernails..
I forget the names and
appease my eyes,
light breeze fills the
chilled void..

Oh, Summer,
envelope me in your essence..
Lift me into the vine.
Tan my skin with your
divine
light..
Let me be kissed by your sun,
that which has hidden like a
memory in melting
snow..

Warm summer,
trapped in
box.

Meghan

Nectar, sap beneath my

I forget the names and
appease my eyes,
light breeze fills the
chilled void..

It was hard to pick this out as my favourite part, i loved it all. The idea of the box containing a season..so creative. it felt as though summer was coming out of hibernation. i felt all fresh and comforted as i read it.

adding to my library.

much love, gem xx
