No Age Limit

I hear your words of self-doubt,
your uncertainty.
You say you’re to young
to express yourself,
they are to old
to understand my words.
You say you’re to old
to reach out to
the
young restless spirit,
they are too young
to understand my words.
Stop!
Look at all the knowledge
being passed among all ages,
young and old.
We are touching
each other with our words.
We feel your sadness,
sorrow and share your tears.
We laugh and smile with joy,
when you are sharing your
happiness, your tenderness,
your love of life.
As you read
these words being passed across
the invisible waves
of
the universe.
Do you wonder about
the person writing the words?
Are they a young person
with hair in spikes
and
a ring
encircling their delicate nose?
Do you say?
“They are to
young and restless
to know the strife I have seen.”
No I think not.
Are they older than you
with silver snow
glistening within their hair?
Do you say?
“They are to old,
they will never understand me
or
understand the pain
I have seen.”
No I think not.
Or!
Do you reach out
and
embrace the vast knowledge
being passed among
the varying generations?
Not caring about the age
of
the writer, who is sending out
the words of fear,
anger, tears of joy, despair,
hope and unending love.
For we all are sharing
a need to be heard
and
to be given a
generous amount
of understanding.
So continue on my fellow poets,
because there is
No Age Limit.

I sure hope not. Thank you for writing this. it is encouraging for some of us "younger" poets.

Hi Bon Bon, you know, never thought of it that way...when I read the poetry of others, all one can see are the emotions...not the person writing the words...and you can feel their joy, mistakes, honesty, and the rain, you can feel the nature they've touched and their pain when hurting...wise words my dear friend...there is no age limit...perhaps when people have an argument...they should first write things down before they speak...take a few deep breaths then read what they've written to each other, with patience, open ness and understanding.
Smiles and hugs....thanks for a good one.

B.J.

Interesting topic, one I don't think I have penned, but probably should.  Maybe you've given me an idea . . .

Age prejudice works both ways, all day long.
It starts early and it stays late.

Do my words tell you how young-old I am?
Not knowing, don't you wonder?

I know you do.

Thank you for all your lovely comments.
Yes S A G are you a young one with your hair in spikes or are you old and gray walking with a cane and have to put your teeth on a shelf for the night? LOL OH! I'm so bad.
I just can't help myself kids. I'm just a little crazy and I love to laugh.
Love Bon-Bon
