Hello everyone. I'm fifteen years old, and this is my first poem on this board. Constructive Criticisms Welcome. WARNING: May be a touchy subject for some. Apologies.

Death-

Every breath I had taken,
He had taken with me,
Watching,
Waiting,
Following,
Longingly he whispered,
Instructions to my ear,
Carrying me along,
Through life and through my fear,
To pearly gates,
To open straights,
He knew the way,
I followed.
I knew the way,
He followed.

Hello Luke and welcome to the forums! Very nice first post. Do you mean that this is the first poem you have ever written? I think you have talent. Keep on writing and nice to meet you!

Welcome to Passions, Luke.  I was 13 when I started writing poetry.  Then stopped when I was 18.  I took many English classes, including poetry at middle and high school.  Now I am 40 and just starting to write again.  Don't stop writing.  Let the words flow.

Good first post.

Welcome, to your new family--poetic one that is!

I find this rather exciting that this is your first poem! You are starting out on the write, I mean "right" foot with this one! Knowing that this is the beginning for you, it is going to be fun to watch you grow as a poet! You're certainly off to a good start!

Warm welcoming hugs,
Earth Angel

Luke, this is an excellent poem indeed, you have talent looking to be read, there will be a library of thoughts, which I am sure, will slowly find there ways through your pen, and may I ask, please share them all with us. I enjoyed this piece, well thought out and constructed. Thank you for sharing. If we start with death here, can we then follow the reborn through life and its journey?

Sincerely
Rick

Take care and keep writing and showing your talent to us all.
