In cold of night by iced starlight
the goblin's curse comes far too soon
and I await to meet my fate
to ask of him a final boon

With deadly hands he proudly stands
before me, manhood raised in ire
I supplicate and salivate
while in my loins there burns a fire

A feral grin now draws me in
and I am lost in darkness, whole
but I await to supplicate
and take back all, from me, he stole

Panting now, I beg and cow
feigning lust I do not feel
my body wakes as my heart breaks
the curse is come with waxen seal

My one desire is lifted higher
as on the flames of lust I burn
this goblin king knows just one thing
and wields me like a spit in turn

My plea unheard is now absurd
surrendered to the funeral pyre
I salivate and meditate
upon this curse of my desire

In moon of wane my time of pain
is coming with the end of years
and through the night both dark and light
I surrender to my fears

become the thing that I despise
see everything through goblin eyes

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

I loved the movie Labyrinth.  David Bowie had an absolutely royal mullet, didn't he?

This poem is terrific--I can honestly say that I'm impressed with your style.  The title is what got me to click and read the poem and the form you chose was truly impressive... I liked your internal rhymes from line to line, gave a kind of Ancient-Mariner-feel to it.  Lovely writing, Kethry.  I'm sorry to have never read you before.

Take care--

Thanks everyone,
I too have seen Labyrinth but I'm afraid this was just some quick whimsy and not connected to thoughts of the movie. Anyway thanks for the idea that it could have come from there.
