The breaking
of
twinkling stars
The crashing
of
the tides of time
The falling
of
the sun and moon
couldn't
hush
the pain away.

No rock-a-byes
No nursery rhymes
No cotton candy
No carnival rides
could
keep
the pain away.

Only twisting
heart
and
bleeding soul
Her gut-wrenched cries
could help them
subside.

The sands of time
washed
through
the glass
Before her heart
had healed at last.

This is so wonderfully written, but so full of sadness ...
