Can you tell me please
exactly what it means
when you feel
in tune
then not
kind of like
a spinning top?

Whirling on one leg
around the floor
dizzy and giddy
and begging for more
on a make-shift
merry-go-round
non-stop

No sound
to be found
but a child
laughing a cry
inside,
"I want to get off
of this ride."

One of those rides that just won't quit.. sort of a DisneyHell.. rollercoaster going no where..

Powerful words.. thank you for sharing them.

Gawd, loved this, oh the ending! I think that was my catchprase when i was younger, always liked the idea of rides, but the reality of them made me cry for someone to get it to stop after 30 seconds. wimp. It would be so nice wouldn't it, for someone to come and switch off the spinning for just a second whilst you find gravity again? Ahhh the limbo, you think you know, next second you dont. Sue, i love your words, they make me feel safe for the odd minute or two. Keep em coming girlie.

We are all sometimes so caught up in the rat race that we lose track of what's important. It would be such a pleasure if people took the time to slow down or stop for a while. Very powerful message Littlewing

Littlewing,

I will let you know if I ever do feel in tune.  I know people who seem to be in tune, may be I should ask them...Although, I have a feeling these people don't know the "spinning top."

I know exactly what you speak of here.

Excellent write!

The only way to truly enjoy a roller coaster is to go completely mad, laugh hysterically and scream like a chretin..I'm finding the key to accepting life strangely similar

yes like caught in a whirl and then you get off the ride and have to barf up all the fun you just had......what a trip that is! i always hated it tho when parents make their kids go on rides, and then the kid screams with terror the whole time, could never figure that one out

Sure, you got caught up in the movement of the wheel, with all the bits of life flashing by, and lost sight of the void around which it spins.  It is very stable in the center.

Yes I know this feeling, dear Sue, your words are powerful ... we can stop and breathe, but we can't go anywhere, so some healthy pause will have to do.
Let the child laugh a cry ... this will work through the diaphragm and have a wonderfully calming effect.
Hugs, beautiful poetess. Margherita

Very, very intense writing, Sue.
I felt it so much, I got dizzy.

There was a time when I became
the colors of the rising sun
playing off the clouds of me
refracting me in jubilee...

I remember I was young
I left the prison of my skin.
Bouncing off the ceilings of
the prison that I would become.

Every now and then I see
that part of us that has no end.
Bouncing off the walls again--
yearning for eternity

breaking through the walls of me
as sunlight playing through the clouds
on a gathering of rain,
and there I am, I am, again.

sigh.

thank you

OK, this is not exactly a "map" but perhaps it may be used to find the Way.  It is from the Tao te Ching.

Thirty spokes will converge
in the hub of a wheel;
but the use of the cart
will depend on the part
of the hub that is void.

With a wall all around
a clay bowl is molded;
but the use of the bowl
will depend on the part
of the bowl that is void.

Cut out windows and doors
in the house as you build;
but the use of the house
will depend on the space
in the walls that is void.

So advantage is had
from whatever is there;
but usefulness rises
from whatever is not.
