you keep your love wrapped up tight,
like those tiny trinkets
stored so carefully,
out of sight,
in that little blue box labeled
MINE

I, on the other hand,
spread it freely without constraint,
the same way I do my
peanut butter and jelly

you save each morsel of your heart,
hoping love will somehow grow
without any additional investment

I prefer to spend freely,
believing the vaults shall overflow
no matter how much
I give, or receive

we don't approach love
or banking
with the same mindset or strategy

reminds me of our chess games

check mate

but no one ever wins

I so agree with your philosophy.. as we sew, so shall we all (I truly hope) eventually reap...

Keep on spreading the good stuff like this around!!!

Kacy . . .
me too - good philosophy
at least I try to
Usually I am getting the checkmate LOL
but I will not waver from what my heart
tells me to do
(they often argue, the heart and the mind)
I dont listen to the latter as much as I should . . . or do I?
hmmm . . . and here I didnt want to go pondering things today . . .
I loved this
you are such a pure soul

We are only as rich as what we give away freely.

Excellent, I wonder why it seems to be this way so often.

No one ever wins indeed (forgive me, I'm a tad bitter tonight...)

Beautifully written, now I understand my own strategy of love a little bit better. Thank you

Great write!! Everyone expresses their feelings in a different way sometimes making it hard for others to understand exactly what they are expressing! ~*Hugs*~

Thanks for the replies.
This was just a rehash of the past.
I don't have a check mate partner these days,
but lots of memoirs that fuel the muse.

sorry to hear 'bout the check scene, Reb
