On A Journey To The Unknown

I Wish I Could Forget
~ By Sue ~

I look at the star, sitting way up high
Sometimes I even wonder why
You just did not care quite enough
Because you made my life with you, too tough
I tried to stick it out in hopes that you would change
But instead it was my life you arranged
The pain still comes and goes
The reason why I do not know
I remember all of the things you said and did
The feelings that I had I always hid
It had become so clear for me to see
You just did not care how much you hurt me
Still I thought things would get better
Never was I one to be a quitter
So I tried so hard to stand strong
But everything I did, was wrong
I wish I could forget the things we use to do
When our lives together was still brand new
There was no hope that I could see
So I did what was best for me

....in the end it's all a person can really do. Sometimes what's best for you is to do what's best for the other person, but the principle's the same.... and you're blessed if you some idea in advance, just what "best" is.

Solid piece of writing here, and one that would be pleasant to hear, even if one didn't know the language....just the sound and cadence without the meaning.

At times it becomes necessary to admit that we made a mistake and go on with our lives...James

Dear Sue, you write so well and powerfully  about your pain!
I so wish you could detach and open your heart to the NOW. I know how it hurts and how we are inclined to ponder over and over again what was done and said ... but I think we are meant to "walk together on the Path of our lives" for the time destined to teach each other some lessons of love and life and then we must go on ... we just have to let go, for there is more for us to explore ... our heart is immense and can give again and again ....
My thoughts.
Your poem you see touched me deeply.
Love and hugs, dear Sue. Margherita

Dear Sue:

Your poem touched me too, very deeply, because it is so well written about how this feels.

It would truly be nice if one could simply mourn quickly, forget it all, and move on; unfortunately, we humans have to beat it up and analyze.

But then, I think, perhaps if we really, truly cared, we have to give it a proper time of mourning, yes?

Well written, my dear, well written indeed.

You did your best,  now all the rest is
nothing but history...let it become nothing
more than a few pages in life's journal and
go forward toward a new horizon....
