~ * ~ In these trivial pursuits Life seems clear, yet night refutes Walking streamside rustles pleasant Blown contentment Cooler, leaving fine refreshment Scurried, shallows quiet remnant Polliwogs swim tails to heads Flipping ripples deep Flowers bow in promised sleep Closing timid petals until dawn’s sweet keep Jealous of the water’s serene rest Sleeping tight Impressionists dream, by midnight Dropping degrees on a pale twilight Star marks on velvet in glitter pictures Snapshots coriander But for the stream, this soft meander Chirps of crickets, sharp then blander Cool moist breezes, skim in teases Rain ~ * ~ Copyright Kkh 7/05/03 |
