Ache
inside of me
battlescars
from the fight
of this life
I lead

No matter
how gently
I itch and scratch
this festering wound
I bleed

I fear
this lucid
state of numbness
sleep
sweet retreat

Once
now burdened
littered with dreams
with the devil
I would deal
to place my feet

Beside you
f-e-e-e-e-e-l
me fall
into your embrace
erase
these thoughts of late
Lead me to the river
cleanse my soul
with your kiss

I need something
something
more than this . . .

You write of the aching and make it hurt so bad.  This makes me worry about you...I hope you're ok tweets~  I really liked what you said about sleep, sweet retreat.  Some times there's no where else to go!

Hugs Suz~ and know that I care.

If only you knew how I relate to every line...GAWD girl, you write dark with explicit rawness and usually I'm a chatterbox, but, this leaves me speechless.

This is a keeper~

Oh Littlewing,

I feel your pain and I too have wished for a genuine embrace that would remove (or at least lesson) the pain.  You described it perfectly.

I have discovered something about sleep
it took awhile
because I too
abhorred it
you feel like you are missing something
or maybe it is the brain spinning too loud

I know another person like that
but
I finally figured out
what sleep is for
oh they tell you it is so the body can rest
pshaw
it is the reset button for our faulty but perfect emotional memory
when we wake up...it is Spring
true....there are things that will rush in quick..bad things..powerful things..that swarm to remind us
of our place in life
but it is degrees
even the worst
there is that second
that little slice of movement where
when you wake up
you have forgotten...

you are born again
and all is glistening new
dripping with wonder
even if but for a second
and sometimes
if you are lucky
it will last all day

this is the miracle of sleep
use it........don't abuse it

take care you

Oh, Sue, I want to take you out of that place you're in and put that winsome smile back on your pretty face. You are too special to have to suffer so.

You are a wonderful communicator of moods and feelings...

Loving hugs,

I loved this one, especially the picture that I was painting in my mind as I read the lines.
